Pooja Choudhary

Founder & Director, Probiz Finance · Ex-NAB · Ex-ANZ · Business Finance Strategist

Before founding Probiz Finance, Pooja spent years inside NAB and ANZ — two of Australia's biggest banks — assessing exactly the kind of applications she now writes for her clients. She has sat on the lender's side of the table, so she knows how credit teams think, what they look for, and precisely where deals fall over before they ever reach approval.

That insider knowledge is why business owners come to Probiz after their bank says no. Pooja doesn't just submit applications — she builds a lending case: the right structure, the right lender, the right story around your numbers. Across business acquisitions, working capital, asset finance and commercial property, her clients get a strategist, not a form-filler.

"Every successful business loan starts with a conversation. Tell me about your business — where you are, where you want to go, and what's standing in the way. The right finance solution follows from there."

Common questions

How much deposit do I need to buy a business?

It depends on the industry, the strength of the business's financials and the security available. Many acquisitions settle with 20–30% deposit, and some — particularly where property or strong trading income supports the deal — can be funded at higher ratios. The deals above settled at 75–80% funded. A strategy session will give you a realistic number for your specific situation.

Can the business I'm buying act as security?

Often, yes. Lenders can take security over the business assets, goodwill and cash flow — and in some cases vendor finance or property security strengthens the structure further. How the deal is structured makes the difference between a decline and an approval.

How long does approval take?

Straightforward deals can be approved within days; business acquisitions typically settle in 4–9 weeks depending on due diligence, lender workload and vendor timelines. We manage the process end to end so nothing sits idle.

Do you charge a fee for your service?

The initial strategy session is free with no obligation. In most cases we're paid by the lender on settlement. Where a fee applies for complex work, it's disclosed upfront in writing before you commit to anything.
